During the pregnancy

We don't know why some mothers are convinced they need to keep their pregnancy hidden. This results in the mothers being all alone with their worries all while growing tunnel vision is depriving her of all options. It is precisely then that an anonymous conversation can be enlightening.

We don't judge, we only try to understand. We offer mothers alternatives if they remain convinced that they must give up their child. Once of these is adoption, if the mother wishes to make herself known. In some countries like France, a mother can give birth to her child in a maternity completely free of charges and whilst remaining completely anonymous. This way the mother also receives important perinatal care.

As a final option there is the baby box. This provides the anonymous mother with an intermediary to have the baby adopted through the proper channels.

So, a prenatal phone call can help.

On leaving the baby

If a mother who has just given birth contacts us and reports that she is on her way to the foundling hatch, we can wait for her and welcome the baby into our arms in a more humane way. This in turn is an important moment of contact for the mom.

Since most of our children are clearly born at home, without medical assistance, we can also recommend an anonymous postnatal examination.

After leaving the baby

Even then, the mom can still contact us.

We can reassure her that the baby is in good hands and help with easing possible guilt.

If the mother regrets her decision, there are always possibilities to get the child back in the arms of his/her mother.

Now that the mother knows what the child means to her, we can help her find perspective. If the mother is willing to step out of anonymity, we guide her to the right channels. We release her the moment she feels safe and heard.
