Place your child inside of the baby box and wrap it in the warm blankets found within the baby box.
This documentation contains a registration with related information. Within you will found our contact details, an explanation as to what will happen with your child and a registration confirming that you are the person that left the child in the baby box. This registration and/or contacting us can always be done completely anonymous. If you were to regret your decision your child can always be returned within the first six months.
When opening the baby box hatch a silent alarm will be triggered. Within 15 minutes one of our caretakers will be there to welcome your child.
When the silent alarm of the baby box is triggered a doctor will always be notified. He/she will examine your child, if needed your child will be transported to the nearest hospital for additional care.
Inside the hatch you will find some documentation with the title “Neem Mee”. The meaning of this is that the mother can take one of these envelopes with her and read it when she has calmed down. Within this envelope you'll find a letter and a puzzle piece.

Within the letter the mother will read about what will happen to her child in the future and the emergency number is clearly stated.
The puzzle piece is a part of a card. Once piece the mother will keep, the other piece will be kept at the Vonderlingenluik. When a baby is found in the baby box and the envelope is missing, we will take note of this.
The puzzle piece found in the envelope is a link between the mother and the child. We kindly ask if the mother would take good care of this puzzle piece and keep it close. When the times comes that the mother would like some more information about her child the puzzle piece will be of great help.
